LSE Generate X Transformative Times
Initiative
The research phase will involve benchmarking global best practices, including a planned visit to Tokyo and create a state-of-play report incorporating existing and new research.
The hybrid venture development phase will select early-stage teams from each country, who will receive tailored support through workshops, academic insights, and access to corporate partnerships who will host in-person local (global!) events too.
The final stages will focus on securing funding and integrating startups into accelerators and investment networks.
In order to generate collective intelligence, we need to find people who think like us. Combining that expertise and perspectives will help organizations leap forward in what is about to come regarding aging.
Our initiative revolves around the research question “how shall we age?” to uncover new products and services for a new aging age.
The initiative focuses on how aging will impact all generations and the hidden forces shaping the new products and services that will drive the next decade.
How do we get ready for aging times?
Our research program, which we call “expedition” is based on 4 fundamental pillars.
Become a leader in shaping the future of healthy ageing while enhancing your brand’s reputation for innovation and societal impact.
Stage 1:
6 months
Preliminary research on how Aging will unfold new products, services and systems in the near future.
Stage 2:
3 months
Leveraging the research created by the Transformative Times and global Universities partnership, fostering entrepreneurship at the intersection of health, technology, and longevity, the initiative connects participants with mentorship, funding, and industry partnerships, redefining what it means to age well.
The venture builder draws inspiration from global leaders in aging innovation, including startups like Birdie (UK), No Isolation (Norway), Rejuvenate Biomed (Belgium), Avea (Switzerland), Senisca (UK), and Nectarine Health (Sweden)—all of whom are pioneering solutions in digital health, biotechnology, and senior care.
Participants will be encouraged to think long-term, envisioning their ventures’ impact 20 years into the future through creative storytelling and future-mapping exercises. The programme will launch with in-person events in London and/or Lisbon, followed by regional meetups across Spain, Brazil, Portugal, North America, and the UK.
Launch 10 high-potential ventures each year improving ageing-related well-being.
Themed approach that tackles new angles around longevity in each cohort.
